Dr Jacob Thomas is currently a past President of the Association of Private Hospitals of Malaysia (APHM) after having held the post of President from 2008 till 2018. He was recently appointed by the Prime Minister of Malaysia as the Champion (Head) of the Private Healthcare Productivity Nexus under the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC), which seeks to improve productivity of the private healthcare sector in Malaysia. This also includes the much-awaited enhanced Public Private Partnership.
He serves as a Councilor of the Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH), which is an accredited member of ISQua. He is, since 2014, a Board Member of the Joint Commission International (JCI) based in Chicago. Since January 2019, he has
been appointed as the Vice Chair of this Board. Dr Thomas today works closely with Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) and various Government agencies and NGOs to promote Malaysian Healthcare both locally and internationally.
Dr Jacob Thomas is today a much sought-after speaker at many conferences and seminars both locally and internationally. He also sits on the Editorial Board of many Healthcare Magazines and assists as an advisor and judge for regional Healthcare
